About This Tour
This excursion will allow us to learn about the customs and live with the residents. It will be an experience in which you will not be an observer, but rather you will be able to integrate with the locals and have an experiential experience, you will be able to stay in local houses and enjoy their traditional cuisine. Through a walk towards the ceremonial center "Pachatata" you will observe beautiful landscapes, and high Andean customs, and from the top of the island, you can see the sunset over Titicaca.

Expand allCollapse allDAY 1 - Puno - Uros “Floating Island” - Night at Amantani
- Our tour starts between 07:00 and 7:30 a.m. with pick-up from your hotel. The first stop we will make will be at the Uros Floating Islands.
- Our visit will begin with the recognition of each island, how they built these islands on the highest navigable lake in the world, our guide will explain the importance of these islands, and our visit
will last a maximum of 1 hour. - Then we headed to the island of Amantani.
- To get to this island, we will travel in our motorized boat for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (9 km/5,5 mi).
- During the trip, you will be able to observe a great variety of scenic beauty, as well as the mountain chain (the Andes mountain range).
- At the main port of Amantani, the residents of the community will welcome us and will begin to divide into groups so that the families are responsible for giving them all the attention, accommodation,
food, and company. - During the afternoon you will have the option of going for a walk to one of the sacred mountains known as (Pachatata), this walk will begin under the coordination of our guide.
- AmantanĂ, also known for the friendliness of its people and for being the natural home of the Flor de la Cantuta, is home to eight communities dedicated to terrace farming, sheep raising, and the
artisanal production of textiles and stone carvings. We will spend the night on this beautiful island.
DAY 2 - Amantani - Taquile - Return to Puno
- After our typical breakfast, we will continue to the next island of Taquile, the navigation will take 1 hour of travel,
- Most people in Taquile are very cooperative and well-organized. It is the reason that the Taquileños have demonstrated their high degree of advancement in the Textile Industry, receiving their award
from UNESCO. It should be noted that spinning and weaving are done mainly by men, starting at the age of eight. - Women exclusively make yarn and weaving.
- Life in Taquile is still largely unchanged by modernity.
- The visit will take an average of 2 hours, and 1 hour will have to enjoy a delicious typical lunch. If you really want to be part of this community, you can voluntarily collaborate by purchasing some
of their crafts. So that this community has some means of sustainability, that way they can continue showing their existence to future travelers. - Finally, our guide will inform you of the return time, arriving at approximately 4:00 p.m. in the city of Puno.
